Guiding Light!
Who I am!
I am a new creation in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17
My sins are fully atoned for. Romans 8:28-30
My old man is dead and buried. Romans 6
I am justified and redeemed. Romans 3:24
I am no longer condemned. Romans 8:1
I am sanctified, holy, and set apart. 1 Corinthians 1
I am the righteousness of God. II Corinthians 5:21
I am chosen, holy, and blameless. Ephesians 1:4
I am alive! Ephesians 2:5
I am seated in the heavenly places. Ephesians 2:6
I am created for good works, prepared beforehand that I should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
Take one day a week (the sabbath day) to study each of these truths. Being reminded of who I now am (through the mirror of James 1:22-25), I have a given day without pressure to practice living out who I am and not who I used to be. Unrestricted by the regular demanding activities of the weekday, my mind can be set on truth and on practicing these truths. I have time and energy to practice the truth.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
Take this one day a week and seek God's truth. Study, pray, and mediate on God's word. This shows our obedience to His word to rest on the sabbath day. We need this preparation time to face the new week. We also need to spend time each day in a daily devotion and bible reading to keep us on track with God's word.
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9-10
Heavenly Father, your majesty and power are great! We humbly bow before you in humble adoration, seeking your word and your knowledge to guide our life. Father, give us discernment and understanding with your knowledge, so that we may apply what we learn into our lives to be a living example of your love. You are Love! and we love you Father! It is our desire to be obedient to your instructions and to live a life worthy of your calling. We are available to you today Father, use us as you will. Mold me and make me, this is what I pray. In Jesus name we pray.....amen
