Faith?
Here is the Bible definition of the word "Faith" from the Greek word; pistis (pis'-tis); persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: KJV - assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity.
Here is Websters definition; a belief and trust in and loyalty to God, belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion, firm belief in something for which there is no proof, complete trust.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. Ephesians 2:8
Faith has saved us through God's grace, this is a faith for our eternal life and so we trust God at His word and accept His gift of salvation and eternal life. How is it then that we can trust God for our eternal life but we can't trust Him with our business, how is it that we can trust God for our eternal life but we can't trust Him with our money, how is it that we can trust God for our eternal life but we can't trust Him with our family, how is it that we can trust God for our eternal life but we can't trust Him with our earthly future?
We live in the flesh by not trusting God with everything, we live a carnal life separated from God. If we can trust Him with our eternal life then surely we can trust Him with every aspect of our daily life. Why is it that we want to hold on to the earthly things in our life instead of turning them over to God? Do you believe He is all powerful enough to handle our daily problems? If so, then why are you holding on to them?
God doesn't want us to be burdened with life's problems, He wants us to turn them over to Him and then listen to Him and follow His instructions to deal with them, He wants us to spend time in the word seeking His truth and guidance. He wants us to enjoy a close relationship with Him, enjoying the creation He has made just for us. If we will only spend time daily in His word we will find all the answers to our daily problems.
You are probably saying by now, "Oh sure, easy for you to say," no, I didn't say it would be easy, I said it can be done with trust and faith in God. When we take our problems to God we need to give it all to Him and not take any of it back, He doesn't need our help. After all He created the world and everything in it. He doesn't need our help. We just need to be obedient to His calling.
Now is the day to start living by faith!
Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17
Heavenly Father, holy one, comforter, most awesome God, we praise you and honor your righteousness. Thank you for your gift of eternal life through faith, strengthen our faith through your word, set in our heart to trust you for everything in our life. Today we vow to come to you for everything good or bad in our life. We will praise you and honor your hold name. In Jesus Christ name we pray......amen.
