Resurrection Sunday!

Jesus predicts His death and resurrection to the disciples as it is written;

"In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me." John 16:16
This confused the disciples not knowing what He meant. Jesus goes on to explain to them the meaning of this scripture in John 16:19-28

Jesus then goes on to pray for Himself; of His crucifixion and resurrection. The Father glorified the Son by sustaining Him through His death and resurrecting Him to life. The Son glorified the Father by willingly offering Himself for our salvation. Jesus gives eternal life to all who receive Him. This eternal life consists in fellowship with God through a saving faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus prays for His disciples; "I have told you about these men, and You gave them to Me" Jesus had revealed the nature of the Father to His disciples. The disciples, like all believers were the Father's gift to Jesus.

Jesus prays for all believers; Jesus expanded His petition to include all future believers, convinced by the testimony of faithful disciples. Jesus shows His love for us in these words to the Father.
I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them." John 17:26

Jesus is tried by Annas, Caiaphas and twice by Pilate. Then after Pilate pleaded with the people to release Jesus, as it is told in the Bible-- It was the day of Preparation of Passover Week, about the sixth hour. "Here is your king," Pilate said to the Jews. But they shouted, "Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!" "Shall I crucify your king?" Pilate asked. "We have no king but Caesar," the chief priests answered. Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified. So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. he finally gave Jesus to them to be crucified. John 19:14-16

Then they took Jesus to be crucified at a place called Skull Hill (Golgotha). There they crucified Him along side two others. Then prophecy was fulfilled in Psalms 22:18, They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing, as it is written in Matthew 27:35 When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Again prophecy was fulfilled in Psalms 34:20, he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken, as it is written in John 19:30-36 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jews did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe. These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: "Not one of his bones will be broken,"

The resurrection of Jesus Christ. Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. John 20:1 Then Mary Magdalene ran and found Simon Peter and the other disciple that Jesus loved. They ran to the tomb to see, they noticed the linen wrappings lying there folded up next to where Jesus was laying. They saw and they believed. Then Jesus appeared to Mary and the disciples several times. When He appeared to the disciples He imparted the Holy Spirit on them as it is written in John 20:22-23 And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven." Then eight days later Jesus appeared to the disciples again along with Thomas (doubting Thomas), when Thomas saw Jesus and His wounds he believed. Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." John 20:29

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

This is our promise from God our Heavenly Father, all we have to do is ask for salvation, it is a free gift from God. As it is told in the Bible- -Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16

If you haven't yet asked Jesus into your heart to be Lord and Savior of your life, I urge you now to go before God and repent of your sins and ask for His forgiveness, He is just and faithful to forgive you. Then being obedient to Jesus' words in Matthew-- Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

God Bless you and keep you. I pray you will continue to grow in your walk of faith with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Maranantha!
