Blessed!

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10

When was the last time you cried out to the Lord with a special request? God wants to bless us more than we can imagine. He knows what we need and He knows what we want. He is just waiting for us to ask. Our God is a great God who wants the best for us in all things. Think of how we feel when our own children ask for something. We are pleased and joyous to give them all that we can with a cheerful heart, especially when they are obedient to our standards and rules of the house. Well God is even more pleased to do for us!

We are blessed in more ways than we can imagine, Jesus tells us how many ways we are blessed in the gospel of Matthew;
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Matthew 5:4-11

As we read this account of our blessings we need to get on our knees and thank God that he cared enough for us to send His son into the world to die for as a promise of life eternal with Him. Let us count our blessings today; we live in America, the richest and most blessed country in the world. We are free to make choices about our belief in God and eternity. We have plenty to eat, we stay warm in the winter, cool in the summer and bask in luxury compared to many parts of the world. We live in a modern home with most of the comforts of the 21st century. We have transportation to take us anywhere we want to go. And most of all we have God in our heart and Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and savior, and the Holy Spirit who lives within us to teach us all things. What more could we ask for?

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. Psalm 63:4

Heavenly Father, we sing out in a joyous voice with praises to you for you are great and greatly to be served. We humbly come before you today Lord and thank you for the many, many blessings you shower on us daily. We ask your forgiveness Father for not being grateful each day for all that we have from you, and "all that we have is from you." We praise you Heavenly Father for your mercy and grace for us sinners who are unworthy to receive anything. But in your infinite love for us you continue to overwhelming bless us daily, we thank you for that. We ask Lord that you would open our hearts to be more appreciative and grateful of your gifts and to share the love you give us with all those we meet. Praise's be to you Father!........in Jesus name we pray.........amen
