Love your God!
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:4-6
This is the greatest commandment given to God's children, to "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." To love someone we must first have a personal relationship with that person. To have a personal relationship with someone we must first get to know that person. To get to know that person we must spend time learning about them.
It is only when we spend time in God's word, learning about Him that we come to know Him as our Lord and Savior. As we come to accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we come to obey Him and follow His commands. For God is a just God, unfailing in His promises and in His everlasting love for us. "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness. Jeremiah 31:3b.
Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands. Deuteronomy 7:9
Spend time today and everyday in God's word and prayer, get to know Him in a real and personal way. Don't spend another moment outside of God's love, go to Him now and ask Him to lead you to a closer and deeper personal relationship with Him.
Heavenly Father, it is our prayer today that we will come to you as our personal Heavenly Father, yearning to know you more, learning how to be obedient and faithful to your commands. Open our eyes Lord so that we may see you, open our ears Lord so that we may hear you, open our hearts Lord so that we may experience you. It is our desire today Lord to spend more time with you, getting to know you more. Teach us Heavenly Father, we are available to you today......in Jesus Christ name we pray.....amen
