Guiding Light!
Treasures in Heaven!
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 6:19-20
Treasures in Heaven, have you like myself ever wondered what those treasures are? I have tried to imagine from an earthly stand point what that might me. I can only imagine from an earthly stand point because my of my limitations of my human mind. I have wondered and day dreamed of many things, the fastest motorcycle there is, riding as fast as I want and never falling, having a full head of hair, being 6'2" tall, a life of luxury and the list goes on and on. Silly thoughts indeed, but I never really knew how to think of what it might be from God's viewpoint.
This all became very clear this morning when visiting with a friend about the Kingdom and God's loving grace. We were praising Him, glorifying Him and honoring Him in our words and thoughts. The true treasure in Heaven is being close to Jesus Christ. We will be near Him always, hearing His words, sharing in His light and singing praises to Him. We will not be in the outer court peeking in, we will not be out working in the fields, we will be right there with Him. Hallelujah! Praise God!
My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:2-3
A mystery revealed, in Christ revealing all hidden treasures of wisdom and knowledge. We will sit down with Him learning of all the mystery's of all time. He will fill us with all wisdom and knowledge to discern His true love. What more do we seek today than wisdom, but not only wisdom, but wisdom with understanding. For without understanding we know nothing. We can acquire all knowledge but without understanding we are still as lost as before we gained wisdom.
Heavenly Father, today I commit myself to be more obedient to your calling, seeking your face in all that I do. I so look forward to the day I will be lifted up to be with you in Heaven, hearing you say, "Well done good and faithful servant." Thank you Father for providing the way for us to come to you through your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank you Jesus for your obedience at the cross bearing my sins forever.....what an Awesome God we serve!....in Jesus name we pray......amen
