Guiding Light!Happy Birthday Jesus!What a glorious day this is to all who believe in Jesus. He is our Lord and Savior, He is our eternal life! His death, burial, and resurrection is our assurance that we will one day spend eternity with Him in Heaven. What a promise we have to look forward to! Try to imagine what it will be like in Heaven. Here are a few things the Bible says about the Kingdom of Heaven; 1. The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. Matthew 13:44a 2. Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:4 3. Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. Matthew 18:23-35 4. For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire men to work in his vineyard. Matthew 20:1-16 5. At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Matthew 25:1-13 6. This is what the kingdom of God is like. A man scatters seed on the ground. Mark 4:26-29 7. The kingdom of God is within you. Luke 17:20-21 8. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit Romans 14:17 9. For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. Corinthians 4:20 10. You will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 1:11 These are but a few of the things the Bible says about the Kingdom of Heaven. These are promises God gives us to look forward to for all who believe in Jesus Christ and have received the gift of eternal life. Without the birth of Jesus we would still be under the law, never being able to match up to the perfect law God set before His people. Are we blessed? More than any of us can imagine and probably more than we ever thank God for. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. Hebrews 12:28 Rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2:7 Let us be thankful for what God has done for us in His son Jesus Christ, praying daily. Lift up your hearts to prayer in thanksgiving. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Philippians 4:4-8 May you and your family have a blessed Christmas and New Year, may you experience God's presence in your life daily. May you grow in your walk with God in a deeper and more trusting way throughout this coming year. May He guide you down new paths to glorify Him, may you continually walk in your faith each moment of every day. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of your Son our Lord and our Savior. We celebrate this day in remembrance of all that Jesus means to us. We praise you for providing your Son as a sacrifice for our sins, we thank you that you have written our names in the book of life. We thank you for the many blessings you shower on us each and every day, our family, our friends, our home, our provisions, our country, our freedom, and everything in life that we have. Will commit to honor you in words and in actions to glorify Your Kingdom.
