The Promise!

The promise that God has given to us is the key to living with confidence and contentment. God's promises will last through out all of time. Because He is eternal He can give us eternal promises with His guarantee. In a world where we can't always depend on guarantees, there is one promise we can trust. Through out the Bible we find God's promise to be with His people.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

Are you trusting God in all of your life circumstances? Do you believe God is always there with you? Are you content in all circumstances you face in life today? Do you have overwhelming needs, or are you discontented because you don't have what you want? Learn to rely on God's promises and Christ's power to help you be content. If you always want more, ask God to remove that desire and teach you contentment in every circumstance. He will supply all your needs, but in a way that he knows is best for you.

For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. Hebrews 10:36

We cannot give up when the going gets tough or things are not going our way. We need to endure in the hope and promise God has given to us. Endurance grows out of commitment to Jesus Christ, to be faithful to the end. Being obedient to His calling even to the point of death.

This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life. 1 John 2:25

By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. 1 John 4:17

Times of trial serve to sift true Christians from false or fair-weather Christians. When you are pressured to give up and turn your back on Christ, don't do it. Remember the benefits of standing firm, and continue to live for Christ. Standing firm to the end is not a way to be saved but the evidence that a person is really committed to Jesus. Persistence is not a means to earn salvation; it is the by-product of a truly devoted life. This perseverance will help us do the will of God. In the end, we will receive what he has promised.

That promise is eternal life!

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your promise of eternal life, life with you forever in paradise. This is beyond our imagination so we accept it by faith Father. We will strive to be obedient to your calling and be the child you have called us to be. Strengthen us Father so that we may the child you desire, depending on you for everything and knowing that everything comes from you. We thank you in advance Heavenly Father for what you are going to do in our life and we bring all honor and glory to you for you are mighty and wonderful...... In Jesus name we pray......amen
