Evangelism

Prayer is the Spiritual Preparation for Evangelism
How to pray for our "not yet" Christian family and friends

1. God draws them to Himself -- "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44 Father, I believe that it is your will for Jim to become a Christian. You have said in John that no one can come to you unless the Father draws them. I ask that you cause Jim to desire to know Jesus.

2. They're not blinded by satan -- And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. II Cor 4:3-4 Father, Your Word in II Corinthians, says as a non-Christian Jim is blind to the gospel of Jesus Christ because of the work of satan. Please remove this blindness so he can see truth in you.

3. They're released from satan -- Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. II Tim 2:25-26 Father, I believe as II Tim says that Jim has been taken captive by the devil. I ask that by the authority and the power of the Lord Jesus Christ You give him freedom for the ability to repent.

4. They are convicted of Sin -- When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgment: in regard to sin, because men do not believe in me; in regard to righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. "I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. John 16: 8-13 God, a ministry of the Holy spirit is to convict the world of guilt in regard to sin, righteousness, and judgment. I pray that Your Spirit would bring conviction of sin in Jim's heart showing him he needs You.

5. They believe in the Bible -- Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 Hearing the word with understanding and acceptance. Father, faith comes from hearing Your word. I pray that Jim hears the truth clearly in Your word and believes it in his heart.

6.They turn away from sin -- Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. Acts 3:19 God, You call us to leave our lives of sin behind. I ask that You strengthen Jim to turn away from his life of sin and selfishness so that he can turn to You and experience the peace of righteousness.

7. They confess and believe -- That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10 Than You for boldly an unashamedly dying on the cross for Jim. Help him to know how much You want to identify with him so he would gratefully and excitedly confess You as his Savior and Lord.

Heavenly Father, it is our prayer today that you will equip us through the Holy Spirit to boldly express and share our faith with our lost brothers and sisters. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes. We ask this is our Savior's name.......amen
