Guiding Light!Thanksgiving!By "Thanksgiving" we are not just referring to a special day. Giving thanks is the believer's spiritual responsibility and should be a way of life. Thanksgiving is an expression of an inner recognition and acknowledgment of the grace of God in every area of one's life. Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his miracles. Exult in his holy name; O worshipers of the LORD, rejoice! Search for the LORD and for his strength, and keep on searching. Think of the wonderful works he has done, the miracles, and the judgments he handed down. 1 Chronicles 16:8-12 Let this be a day of giving thanks to our Lord and Savior, but not just today, each and everyday of our life. We have so much to be thankful for; Life itself, God's wondrous creations, God's deliverance and salvation in His son Jesus Christ, God's grace to us, God's provisions for us, God's victory He has won for us over death, God's promise of eternal life, and the list can go on and on. Make your own list and post it in a place you will see daily, remembering to be thankful for all He has done for us. When we are being thankful for all of God's goodness He shows on us it is impossible to be a grumbler. Our heart is filled with praise and worship, seeking His face and to do His will as He has instructed us to do. Cast all of your cares and burdens on Him for He is just and faithful to care for us in all things. Trust in Him, He is our Heavenly Father who created us for His pleasure He will never, never forsake us nor leave us. God love us! Paul's Gratitude for Gods Mercy How thankful I am to Christ Jesus our Lord for considering me trustworthy and appointing me to serve him, even though I used to scoff at the name of Christ. I hunted down his people, harming them in every way I could. But God had mercy on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief. Oh, how kind and gracious the Lord was! He filled me completely with faith and the love of Christ Jesus. This is a true saying, and everyone should believe it: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners--and I was the worst of them all. But that is why God had mercy on me, so that Christ Jesus could use me as a prime example of his great patience with even the worst sinners. Then others will realize that they, too, can believe in him and receive eternal life. Glory and honor to God forever and ever. He is the eternal King, the unseen one who never dies; he alone is God. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:12-17 Think on the words that the Apostle Paul wrote, meditate on them, commit them to a way of life and not just to thoughts. How grateful we are that God would consider us worthy to be used by Him in His Kingdom work. I am honored that God would allow me to be used by Him to share His message and good news of Jesus Christ. All God is asking from us so that we may be used by Him is for us to be obedient to Him. If we truly love God then this is not a hard task to accomplish. This is not to say we will accomplish it in a day, a week, a year or even in a life time, but we continue daily to strive to reach the mark. Heavenly Father we offer up thanksgiving to you today and everyday for the great things you have done in our life and all the things you will do in our life. We commit to you today Father to be obedient to your calling, a faithful child walking in trust to your instructions. You are the one true God and we acknowledge your presence in our life and your promises of eternal life.
