Thanksgiving

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7

Thanksgiving Day! I hope you'll find it's full of more than just turkey with all the trimmings. When I stop to think about what God's given me this year, I'm amazed at His goodness. Try writing a list of the things you and your family are thankful for--from little to big. Go ahead, let your gratefulness overflow. And don't forget to thank the One who gives us all good things.

Thanksgiving gives effect to prayer, and frees us from anxious carefulness, by making all God's dealings a matter for praise, not merely for requests, much less murmuring. "Peace" is the companion of "thanksgiving"

Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess 5:16-18

Let us search our hearts today and recall all that we have to be thankful for is God's grace. Just being thankful doesn't matter much if we don't take it to God and tell Him. He wants to bless us beyond our wildest dreams, but we must first be thankful for what He has already done and tell Him.

This holiday season let us remember where all our blessings and goodwill comes from. I challenge you to open your heart and your home to someone in need at this special time of year, share your blessings God has so freely given us. The more we give of ourselves the more God will bless us. "So, give it away"

Heavenly Father, it is our prayer today that you will instill in us a giving heart, just like the one you have for us. Father, we are not worthy of any of your blessings as we are sinners in a sinful world. But, you have so freely given your Son as a sacrifice for all the sinners of the world, so now we stand before you blameless and worthy through the blood of Jesus Christ. Praise you Father, Praise You! in Jesus name we pray..........amen
