God is Spirit!
The God of Scripture can only be known by those to whom He makes Himself known. Nor is God known by the intellect. "God is Spirit", and therefore can only be known spiritually.
God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." John 4:24
But the sinful man is not spiritual, he is carnal. He is dead to all that is spiritual. Unless he is born again, supernaturally brought from death into life, miraculously translated out of darkness into light, he cannot even see the things of God much less apprehend them.
In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." John 3:3
The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14
The Holy Spirit has to live in our hearts (not intellects) in order to give us the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
And even that spiritual knowledge is but a fragment of the big picture. The renewed soul has to grow in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. 2 Peter 3:18
The principal prayer and aim of Christians should be that we "walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God".
And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:10
Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. John 3:5
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. Romans 8:16
Heavenly Father we praise you and adore you, we honor and glorify your Heavenly name above all names. It is through your gracious love that you have called us to be your child for all eternity. Thank You! We worship and praise you in spirit from our hearts, we bow down before you in humble adoration. We thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit to teach us your word and your instructions. We thank you most of all for your Son Jesus Christ who willingly laid down His life for us as a sacrifice so that we may spend eternity with you. What an Awesome God we serve. Protect and guide us Father we ask in Jesus name......amen
